À propos de DRC Fashion Week
DRC Fashion Week is an annual event that has established itself as one of the most important dates in Kinshasa's cultural calendar — a platform for promoting Congolese fashion, designers, and creative talent.
Founded by Nathalie Eoma and Bénie Nyota, the event has grown steadily over six editions into a significant moment for the Congolese and African fashion industries. Each year it brings together established designers, emerging talent, models, and a public audience united by a shared passion for Congolese style and creativity.
The 6th edition, held on 15 August 2026 at the Galerie La Fontaine in Kinshasa, centred on the theme of La SAPE — the Société des Ambianceurs et des Personnes Élégantes, the iconic Congolese cultural movement built around dandyism and elegance. The event brought together stylists, designers, and sapeurs from both the DRC and the neighbouring Republic of Congo, with designers paying tribute to the great figures of la sape including Papa Wemba. The dress code celebrated the colours of both Congolese flags — a gesture that transformed the evening into a display of national pride and cross-river cultural unity.
The event was attended by Patrick Muyaya Katembwe, Minister of Communication and Media, who underlined the vitality of Congolese creativity and the government's support for the cultural and creative industries.
